Following the release of their singles "Drowning" and "Lately I've Been Caught Up", German grunge-gaze / alt-rockers POPPY WIZARD announce their debut EP "Holy Spirit Gang" for August 23, 2024 via Supervillain. The five tracks will also be released on vinyl, which can be pre-ordered from the pre-order link. In line with the announcement, the band's latest single "Bedridden" is now available to stream below as a further appetizer, which continues the band's style between grunge and 90s influenced alternative rock. "The song is about depression in the broadest sense - about the desire to isolate yourself from others and just vegetate in front of yourself. At the same time, it describes manic phases in which all you want to do is party and have fun, even though this 'fun' is only imaginary. Overall, it's a very personal song about dealing with depression," comments singer and guitarist Hendrik Dyga.

Originally started as a creative two-man experiment during the Corona pandemic in Düsseldorf and Cologne, Poppy Wizard has evolved into a band project driven by the shared passion of four long-time friends.
