Winnipeg's mathy emo-punk band Fox Lake are gearing up to release their outstanding debut LP titled "Repose" on April 29, 2022 via Old Press Records.

At some point in writing their debut album Repose, Winnipeg’s Fox Lake started to lean into the reality that their band has always been about indulgent moments: of shared delight in technical flourishes, of appreciation for natural overdrive, of catharsis while creating as a group.

After years of refinement and revision - and an entire album on the cutting-room floor - the band leaned into such moments to craft an album rooted in the mathy-emo energy and technicality that inspired the band, but built around post-rock structures and dynamics. Moving beyond the tropes of fancy fingerwork and earnest shouting, the songs on Repose signal a more intentional approach to melody and nuance, a growth that is mirrored in lyrical themes of self-questioning and transition.

The debut LP finds the band perfecting their combination of 90s midwest emo-revival, math rock and pop punk to make an incredibly versatile and catchy debut.
