Some Fear
January 16, 2025Oklahoma City slowcore band some fear, the four-piece band led by Branden “Bran” Palesano, are thrilled to announce their self-titled debut album, some fear, arriving January 16, 2025, via Houston’s tastemaking Rite Field Records. Arriving with the announcement is the unhurried but crushing “Skin I Can’t Peel,” a meditation of leaving the past behind in favor of the present but with the knowledge of common history in mind. Guitar riffs unfurl across the track, previewing the best of what’s to come from the band. some fear was recorded in the band’s home studio and self-produced with mastering from Boone Patrello (Teethe).
“Skin I Can’t Peel” is a song I wrote about meeting someone where they’re at in life, regardless of your common past,” bandleader Branden Palesano explains. “It’s about accepting, growing, and realizing we all change as we grow older and shed our old skin.” This announcement arrives after last month’s insomnia-inspired single, “Worm.” The first preview of their imminent debut, the track served as an introduction to this new, fine-tuned era of the band. Together, these recent singles showcase how some fear are more locked in than ever, ready to embark into a hazy universe of longing, loss and loneliness.
