News updates for Balance and Composure
Balance and Composure share new song "Believe the Hype" from forthcoming LP
If the first two songs released from Balance and Composure's long-awaited new album, with you in spirit, didn't make it clear––the band is back in their best form. The new record is an arresting, atmospheric collection of melodic post-punk and towering rock.
Today the PA band shares "believe the hype," a crushing crusade with razor-sharp lyrics and the heaviest instrumental composition Balance has ever comprised. Vocalist and guitarist Jon Simmons approaches the song and much of with you in spirit with intense self-reflection, examining and uprooting the very supports on which a life is built. Preemptive grief, wrestling with faith, familial responsibility and mortality were all weighing heavily while he wrote these lyrics.
Due out October 4 on long-time collaborator and Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip’s Memory Music, with you in spirit is the band’s first LP in eight years, and a thrilling full-length comeback after their four-year hiatus. It dips between beautiful, crystalline arrangements and punishing, earth-shaking climaxes; in between all, a gripping, near-physical tension crackles and growls and grooves, waiting to rip open. Stream the latest single "Believe the Hype" along with the previously released singles "Cross to Bear" and "Sorrow Machine" for a taste of what's to come.
