Origami Angel

Formed in 2016, the band has quickly become known for their unique blend of emo, indie rock, pop punk, and easycore. They've been described as part of the "fifth wave of emo," but they bring a distinct and refreshing energy to the genre that sets them apart.Their debut album, Somewhere City, released in 2019, received high praise from music publications, with Pitchfork and the Chicago Reader lauding it as emblematic of emo in 2019 and setting the tone for the genre's next decade. The album's themes revolve around a utopian concept, which counters the typically negative lyrical content found in emo music with more positive messages and pop culture allusions. Following the success of Somewhere City, Origami Angel released their sophomore double-album, Gami Gang, in 2021. This album saw the band expanding their musical horizons, mixing their signature sound with a more experimental approach, drawing comparisons to The Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness for its ambitious scope. Dead Bars
Dead Bars began in Seattle when punk drummer John Maiello ditched the sticks, picked up a guitar and started writing short blasts of no-bs-power-punk-rock in 2013. Soon after, NJ punk drummer C.J. Frederick joined to play drums and guitar. They quickly recorded and released five 7-inches, toured all over & made festival appearances, and eventually recorded their debut album, Dream Gig in C.J. 's home kitchen which saw a release in 2017. At the time, DIY punk zine Razorcake wrote of the album, "Dead Bars make something impossible to duplicate look so simple and attainable." The next phase of the band introduced Jon Oddo from Kansas City on bass guitar. The three started making their next album Regulars which was released in 2019. Shortly after, Elliot Thordarson and Paul Davis came in to fill out the lineup on guitar and drums respectively. 2023 marks the 10-year anniversary of the group and starts the next phase of the Dead Bars story. The future is unwritten. The family is growing, and the universe is vast. The band is now gearing up to release their third LP "All Dead Bars Go To Heaven" via Iodine Recordings in March 2025. Dead Bars offers a raw, melodic and energetic sound drawing inspiration from anthemic punk and power-pop influences with singalong hooks. The band is heavily influenced by the guitar heavy 90s alt rock, punk and power pop in bands like The Replacements, Sugar, Hukser Du, early Goo Goo Dolls, and more current bands like The Gaslight Anthem, The Hold Steady, Beach Slang and the like.

Slumped
Slumped are an alternative rock band from Oakland, Ca with similarities to bands like Weezer, The Rentals, and newer bands like Webbed Wing. About the band, California’s Slumped is an alternative rock band formed in 2017 as part of the burgeoning indie scene of the east Bay Area. With a throw back sound to 90s fuzzed out power pop, alt-rock, and grunge-pop, and informed as much by the tone and engaging songwriting of bands like Weezer, The Rentals, Third Eye Blind and Everclear as they are by more contemporary acts like Superheaven, Webbed Wing and Tony Molina, Slumped plays loud fuzzed out catchy rock music - full stop. Driven by screaming refrigerator guitar amps and distortion pedals, thundering drums, and roaring bass, the band’s “heavy pop songs” sound like they’re 100 stories tall, both on and off record. Existing somewhere between Weezer’s Pinkerton and Thin Lizzy’s Black Rose, Slumped is the perfect soundtrack for driving very fast into the sunset while bawling your eyes out.
